John Hodgman and AC Newman confirmed guests for The Best Show on WFMU with Tom Scharpling Tuesday, March 12th from 9pm-Midnight!
We did it!
At the sounding of last night’s ceremonial gong, WFMU was just shy of our 2012 Marathon goal. A mere 16 hours later, WE HAVE MADE THE GOAL!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our most successful marathon total ever by pledging, volunteering, and helping to spread the word about freeform! As a listener-supported radio station, you make WFMU what it is, and we love you.
Even though the gong has rung, you can still pledge to help us keep doing what we do year round, and to get in on the last call for 2012 swag before it ships out in April.
Tom Scharpling, “Back In The Saddle / Nervous Breakdown” (Live at the 2011 WFMU Marathon Finale)
WFMU’s 2012 Marathon explodes with a big ol’ finale party TONIGHT, broadcast live in both audio and video from Maxwell’s in Hoboken. Come on down, or listen and watch at wfmu.org.
Expect all-out insanity as WFMU’s Hoof & Mouth Sinfonia take the stage with live band karaoke, featuring your favorite DJs belting out (our version of) the hits! We hope to reach our marathon goal of raising $1.2 million, and we’re within reach—help us get there! At midnight, we’ll draw a lucky winner for a trip for two to Barcelona (pledge $1000 or more to be eligible)!
Yo La Tengo during the outro of “Born to Run” last night on WFMU:

Ira: “Not til Sunday”
It’s true! This Sunday night, Ira the K joins a slew of fellow WFMU DJs for our live band karaoke marathon finale, the Hoof ‘n Mouth Sinfonia!
Thirty WFMU DJs will sing a song of their choosing, backed by a band of fellow woof-moo’ers. You can take a peak at the rehearsal videos on Vimeo, and check out select audio/video footage from previous years: 2005 | 2006 | 2008
Tune in Sunday, 7p-1a ET, and watch the live webcam at wfmu.org as we close in on our 2012 WFMU Marathon goal! If you want, you can join the Facebook Event.
